Neighbors Helping Neighbors–An Innovative Service for Seniors "ShareCare is a great help to me. I don't know what I'd do without it." In 1993, ShareCare, a unique, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation was founded by a group of retirees who wanted to overcome the problems that so often force seniors to leave their homes prematurely. They created this Members' organization to offer Leelanau County residents comprehensive, affordable assisted living services in their own home. ShareCare promotes the independence and well being of its Members by providing convenient access to services and programs that help them remain in their own homes—living as independently and safely for as long as possible. ShareCare offers access to services delivered by health care professionals, experienced caregivers, trusted local independent contractors and a caring network of volunteers based in your neighborhood.
